This is Not Television
On Thursday, February 22 2007, John and Kera of One Big Smile are hosting an event called This is Not Television at the Bronson Centre in Ottawa. It's being held in the Nepean room from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. and admission is by donation. It's a participatory community celebration that needs your creations, thoughts and ideas!
The evening is a bit of an experiment. We haven't done this before, so we're excited to see what happens. The formula is this: We rent a room. We bring some giraffes and art and coffee and baked treats, and conjure up a version of our fluid musical collective, One Big Smile, to fill the empty spaces. Then we invite YOU. And you bring or make or do something that is not television. To add to the soup pot. And we see what we can cook up...
Of course, if you don't want to do or make or bring, we'd still love it if you came. We'd just like to encourage those of you who want to to join in the fun to jump in. :)
If you want to do something that requires specific time on stage, we'd love to arrange it. If you contact us in advance, we can make sure there is a spot with your name on it. Or you can ride the winds of fortitude and take your chances on the day. We're thinking that time will be allotted in chunks of 10 minutes or so, to give as many people a chance to participate as possible.
